Amos 1:5-7

⁵ I will ^(A)break the gate-bar of ^(B)Damascus,
    and cut off the inhabitants from the Valley of ^(C)Aven,^[a]
and him who holds the sceptre from ^(D)Beth-eden;
    and the people of ^(E)Syria shall go into exile to ^(F)Kir,”
says the Lord.

^(G)“For three transgressions of ^(H)Gaza,
    and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because ^(I)they carried into exile a whole people
    to deliver them up to Edom.
⁷ So I will send a fire upon the wall of ^(J)Gaza,
    and it shall devour her strongholds.
